Amnat Charoen, 583 kilometres from Bangkok, is a newly establiched province upgraded from amphoe Amnat Charoen of Ubon Ratchathani Province in 1993. Known as the Land of Dharma, Amnat Charoen is famous For its scenic view especially where the Khong River forms the borderline.

Phra Mongkhon Ming Muang and Phuttha Utthayan Khao Dan Phra Bat is located 3 kilometres from town on the left-hand side of Highway 212. A Buddhist sanctuary built amidst green trees houses a Buddha image in the attitude of Subduing Mara decorated with golden mosaic tiles, designed by Chit Buabut cast in 1965. It is a very beautiful Buddha image.

Phuttha Utthayan Reservoir Three kilometers away from town, this huge reservoir under the Irrigation Department offers a beautiful scenery. It is an ideal place to visit with resorts and food shops scattered all around.

Wat Tham Saeng Phet is a meditation sanctuary, the school of Phra Achan Cha Suphattho, the late abbot of Wat Nong Pa Phong in Ubon Ratchathani. It is about 10 kilometres from town, on Amnat Charoen-Khemmarat Road and two kilometres on a side road before the end of the highway. The large temple area consists of the hilltop chapel with a principal Buddha image. The temple is set amidst rocks which reflect the light and sparkle like diamonds. Monks of different nationalities come here for meditation.

Wat Phra Lao Thep Nimit is on Highway 209 about 2 Kilometres from Amphoe I'hana centre. It is in old temple. Phra Lao Thep Nimit, an ancient Buddha image, is housed in the beautiftil ordination hall built in authentic Northeasetern style. The ordination hall is about 200 years old. The principal sacred Buddha image, in the attitude of Subduing Mara is lacquered and gilded.

Don Chao Pu Forest Park is a dense forest near Amphoe Phana with many kinds of trees that are over 100 years old. This shady and quiet forest in the habitat of a large number of monkeys.
